Hello,
Android applications are published to Google Play Store. SecureBox pass review is available for installation while PRO still wait it.
Both are packaged with PKIX-SSH 17.2.2, and ldns 1.9.0.
Remark: The minimum supported release is Android 4.1 (API level 16) for both applications.
About "16 KB page size for 64-bit binaries". Currently is reverted as build process needs additional review.
Unfortunately SecureBox 3.2.0 and SecureBox Pro 4.2.0 cannot be used on 64-bit devices if Android version is before Android 15 (API level 35).
Note that first 64-bit Android in Android 5 (API level 21).
These release are packaged with OpenSSL 1.1.1*. To ensure compatibility with minimum API level, build uses Android NDK r21*.
For 64-bits Android is used a linked flags as Android documentation recommends. This flag should avoid linked bugs in NDK r22 or lower.
Side effect - binaries could be loaded only on Android 15 (API level 35) or higher.
OpenSSL 3 (3.5.4) is packaged with SecureBox 3.3.0 and SecureBox Pro 4.3.0. The build process use NDK r23.
Such upgrade requires modification OpenSSL build script to allows override of compiler as for lower NDK.
Override is required to ensure compatibility with minimum supported API level. Lets do not discuss why OpenSSL build issue is still not resolved yet.
In consequence only one issue should be resolved to ensure compatible binaries for API level 16.
The build process for 64-bits still uses proposed linked flags.
The side effect is the same.
I'm sorry, I'm noticing this too late i.e., these days.
Additional tests shows that this linked flags, may be, is needless for NDK r23. Review of build settings, rebuild of binaries, and tests on various 64-bit Android releases are in progress.
On success will be published new "rebuild" releases.
Another prerequisite is SecureBox Pro to pass review as publication process may not allow new request when exist pending(in progress) one.
Stay tuned,
Roumen Petrov
