Dear list members,

New bugfix release 13.2.3 is available for download. It has corrections for FreeBSD process control and regression tests related to experimental scp over sftp. For mode details see https://roumenpetrov.info/secsh/#news20211023 .

Extra information.
Last release shows long standing issue in scp regression tests - scp utility must be pre-installed test to pass. Now is resolved.
Another issue was that sftp server functionality depends on "broken" realpath. Now use of "broken" OpenBSD based realpath implementation is used only sftp and for next major release sftp code should be rewritten.

Test shows that idea to switch scp to use sftp by default is not so valuable.
Preferred method to switch  scp to use sftp is to use alias for command line and function for shell scrips.
Note functionality could use custom sftp server extension "expand-path". Extension is available in PKIX-SSH 13.2 and OpenSSH 8.7.

Regards,
Roumen Petrov
